Pilot Project Stimulation Albania
Tacrom Services performed in Jan 2012 a gelled acid frac in Albania. Stimulated formation was limestone at 3300 m depth. The gelled acid system, developed by Tacrom Services showed very low friction during pumping operation (2 7/8” tubing) Good pumping rates were achieved and a slow reaction with the carbonates was the goal of the design..Treatment schedule included stages of gelled acid intercalated with water based gel. Through the difference in viscosity the acid stages were fingering through the gel stages. This fingering ensures that the frac walls are not uniformly dissolved and once the fracture closes, flow paths remain due to the unevenly etched walls. In addition the gel stages created a wider fracture than the gelled acid stages. The wider the fracture is, the slower is the acid reaction rate (mass transfer).
Production results were promising
